Ford S-Max – A Great Sports Activity Vehicle
I am going to be honest – until I started researching the Ford S-Max I didn’t have the faintest idea what a Sports Activity Vehicle was. Sure, I had heard of an SUV, or a Sports Utility Vehicle. But an SAV was yet another acronym that I hadn’t bothered to spare the time to look up. In fact, it was BMW who invented the term SAV, and they claim that the difference from the crossover SUVs is in the on-road driving. In fact, it seems that an SAV is intended to drive like a sports car, which is very impressive indeed.
Have you ever thought about how the Ford S-Max has managed to make itself a car for almost every situation conceivable? Do you want to drive off-road? Then the S-Max can handle that for you. You need to nip down to the shops? Yup, the S-Max can do that to. You want sports car power and drive? Surprise surprise, this versatile SAV model can should deliver on those grounds too, without even having to pause for breath. It even looks sporty, whilst still having that chunkiness that is a prerequisite of pretty much any off-road car that’s on the market.
The Ford S-Max is quite different from a lot of the other cars in the current Ford range. Sure, there are a couple of large models that could be grouped with it, but they tend to be massive family-centric people carriers, massive goliaths largely made to transport your life and the dog too. The S-Max, however, is a much sportier beast, that has more in common with the crossover models currently popular on the market that with any sort of people carrier. It stands out from the crowd thanks to its sportiness, which is a major selling point for Ford.
